18km run this morning. Got a bit lost trying to navigate my way through some fields. I have cycled back and forth to work for the last week, covering maybe 200km. Legs felt good running though, carried me at a steady pace through trails and road. Got my CR back too.

Open water swimming went well. A lot easier to swim without a wetsuit. It was cold. My jaw hurt from shivering, and gritting my teeth. My brother and I were both keen on swimming when we were younger, we competed in an open water swim event in Africa. It was fun to think of that this morning. 
Water was clear. First 500 was cool, cold set in after that. I felt the familiar sensation of my scalp tightening in the cold. Good.

Pretty clean 15k running route. Hotter than expected… No water. Lots of wandering. Bum average pace, but good to shake out my stiff legs.

I went swimming this morning at rutland water. Sunday swims organised by Inspire2Tri a rutland triathlon coaching company.
The course is a 500m lap, marked out by green buoys, which are difficult to spot.
Haven’t been swimming in a long long time. Needs a lot work. Could have been better in a well fitted wetsuit. But nice to know we have this facility so nearby… Only a 40minute run up to Whitwell.

A few personal records and course record on today’s run. Pace felt pretty stable running in the heat. I think I can carry the same pace of a half marathon.

Hill repeated.
Nice weather today, ran up a little hill today a couple of times. Good to feel fully warmed up and able. Very wet ground!

New run.
I have found a nice figure eight loop with plenty of hills + some grassy trails. I will be doing a times run around the new loop soon! ‘Run for an hour see how many laps you do’ kinda thing.
